Semarang – The Public Governance Expertise Cluster (KBK), Department of Public Administration, FISIP, Diponegoro University, has once again strengthened its academic contributions and networks on the international stage through the publication of a reputable International Book Chapter involving UNDIP academics and scholars from various countries. This Book Chapter is entitled “Navigating Global Mangrove Management: International Academic Collaboration on Policy and Practice,” published by IGI Global Scientific Publishing, a globally reputable publisher.
The global scale of this international collaboration is evidenced by the involvement of 54 authors from seven countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan. The 16 chapters available offer a diversity of perspectives in the study of public policy and mangrove management practices across various contexts and regions. The publication of this Book Chapter demonstrates that the academic collaboration ecosystem does not stop at the exchange of ideas but also produces knowledge products that can reach the international scientific community. This cross-country collaboration also serves as part of strengthening the network, academic visibility, and international reputation of Diponegoro University in supporting its role as a World Class University (WCU).
Beyond the achievement of publication, the theme of mangrove management practices examined through the lens of public policy reflects the commitment of the Department of Public Administration, FISIP, Diponegoro University, to develop and deepen issues of sustainability and the environment. Through the public governance approach, environmental issues are positioned not merely as ecological concerns but also as spaces for collaboration, policy, and governance that require cross-country contextual perspectives. This publication is also expected to further strengthen the contribution of the Department of Public Administration, FISIP, Diponegoro University, in the development of knowledge relevant to global sustainability challenges.
